Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Program Hosted Emeritus Professor Massimo Montanari
The Gastromony and Culinary Arts Program at Özyeğin University hosted Emeritus Professor Massimo Montanari from the University of Bologna. Renowned for his distinguished research on medieval studies, agriculture, and culinary history, Emeritus Prof. Montanari met with our students and faculty in a special conference organized by our Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Program.
In his talk titled “Why Italian Cooking Can Be Considered a World Heritage?,” Emeritus Prof. Montanari offered his insights into the nomination of Italian cuisine for UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage List and highlighted the key elements in the nomination dossier that make this culinary tradition so globally significant.
