Our University Strengthened Its Renewable Energy Commitment in 2025 Through I-REC Certification

Dear Members of OzU,

We are pleased to let you know that we have taken another significant step towards our sustainability goals.  Our University has obtained an I-REC (International Renewable Energy Certificate) for its electricity consumption in 2025.

What is the I-REC Certificate? The I-REC is an internationally recognized certificate that verifies electricity consumption has been sourced from renewable energy.  With this certification, our University has formally documented that all electricity used in 2025 was supplied by renewable energy sources—marking an important step in reducing our carbon footprint.

This achievement serves as a testament not only to our environmental responsibility but also to our goal of becoming a higher education institution in full compliance with international sustainability standards.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all units who have supported the monitoring and reporting of sustainable practices across campus.
